I am Derek Wautlet

I am a software engineer and fiction writer hailing from southern Wisconsin.

My current role is at Cognizant Technology Solutions, working with an internal logistics company. I've worked on UI Feature development essential to the product function of an application used by thousands of customers.

In the past I have worked in the engineering departments for companies from a small midwest healthcare startup to a motion control manufacturer building IoT devices.

My true passion, however, is entrepreneurship. I've worked on several of my own projects including bringing a self improvement mobile app, 30Yourself, to market. My current project is Strangest Fiction, a creative writing platform aimed at new and emerging authors. We have over 100 stories published on the site and 50 authors using it actively. We're planning our first print publication for Fall 2022, an athology of the best works on the site.
